I loved NYC
Not the “c” though. The city is hostile. It wants you OUT. And everyone else too.
Too many people, too much metal. All in one place.
New York is something else. Humanity, creativity, intellectualism, and people doing things, really well.
Lots of things. But especially the water. Spotted across Times Square and elsewhere are manhole covers with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles logo painted on them. It turns out that the NYC Water is like, really good. Follow them on their socials.
They don’t get any engagement.
But should.
The first night we were there I stupidly asked, “Is the water good from the faucet” assuming that it wasn’t – Coming from Ohio it’s a flip of a coin whether the water is good. Good enough sure, but not crystal-clean-dream water like in NYC. The concierge said, a little chagrined – “Well, some guests say they don’t like the taste, But it’s the safest in the world.” And we talked fast like I can’t always do in Ohio.
I believe him about the water. A big city like New York has to take water very seriously. Too many people all in one place. Too much metal. And with the city’s being so hostile people gotta knuckle down
